Rest to resistance. With a meaning.
Each year, Y Events stages an intervention in the Kutná Hora Theatre Festival program, presenting less common forms of theatre and performance as part of a durational installation.
In 2024, a garden of relaxation will open in the center of Kutná Hora, a refuge for the moments when the dialogues, dramatic arcs, proscenium theatres, lighting design, and scenography all become too much. Y: Restful Garden will create a temporary relaxation
zone in the middle of the gardens under the Vlašský Dvůr.
A temporary transformation of aóne´s attention with a particular goal – to enjoy a moment of disconnection from the heightened attention of an environment devoted to the intensive perception of [theatrical] art. Idleness at a theatre festival? Sunbathing and lounging instead of professional reflections? Or perhaps a welcome and wanted connection, where I/we voluntarily accept someone else’s rules and allow myself/ourselves to be led through a transformed landscape that ultimately seeps into the landscape of the everyday. And then, the theatre will start to make sense again.
